We be careening the hull of the HMS Black Swan in a secluded bay on a little-known isle. Waiting for the tide to go out, that we be cleaning her hull and repairing some damage from cannon shots and collisions. Tarring and fixing and readying her for the voyages ahead. Rid of the encrustations of barnacles and particulate sea life, the HMS Black Swan should be readying to attain top speed on future voyages. Aye, that be needed for the battles ahead.
We be pausing here to do the work, I estimate at least 5 days. The Captain be looking better, but still not ready to resume the captaining and pirating. I be needing to pays me full attention to the task at hand (except, of course, for a little treasure huntin'!).
I be going ashore to supervise the goings-on, and will not be making entries to the Captain's Log these next few day as the HMS Black Swan be temporarily aground. Aaaarh, an unnatural state to be sure, but necessary for the time being. If all goes well, these entries be resuming March 3.
